Gait Analysis London Ontario | Garnet Orthopedic Solutions

Gait Analysis · London, Ontario

See the movement pattern behind the pain.

A gait analysis shows how pressure moves through your feet with each step, so your support plan is built from evidence — not a guess.

Pressure mappingSee where your foot takes extra load.
Orthotic-ready dataThe scan feeds the support plan.
Plain-language reviewYou see what the pattern means.
Person exercising outdoors, used as a placeholder for gait and movement analysis
Movement tells the story Heel strike, midstance, toe-off, pressure, and timing all shape the final plan.
Athlete working on leg recovery, used as a placeholder for overuse injury support
Data first. Then footwear, orthotics, activity changes, or referral as needed.

What the scan shows

You walk across the plate. The pattern shows what your feet are doing.

You walk normally across a digital pressure plate while it records where and how much force each part of your foot puts down with every step.

That data can show patterns you may not feel or see on your own: a foot rolling inward, uneven pressure between left and right, or one small area taking far more load than it should.

The scan is also what your custom orthotics are built from, so the assessment is not a separate add-on. It is the foundation of a better fit.

Root point: the scan reduces guesswork. It turns “my foot hurts” into a visible pressure and movement pattern.

Example scan readout concept

Pressure concentrationShows which areas are taking too much load.
Left-right balanceShows if one side is compensating.
Stride timingShows how force moves from heel to toe.
Orthotic design cluesShows where support or offloading may help.

Who this helps

Pain higher up the chain can start at the foot.

Gait analysis is strongest when the problem keeps coming back, moves from place to place, or does not match what you feel locally.

Person holding knee, placeholder for knee pain linked to gait

Knee, Hip, or Back Pain

Foot mechanics can change how force travels up through the leg.

Runner outdoors, placeholder for repetitive sports injuries

Repetitive Sports Injuries

The same injury in the same spot often points to a repeated loading pattern.

Uneven rocky ground, placeholder for terrain-related gait strain

Uneven Terrain Strain

Trails, gravel, stairs, and job sites can expose poor control fast.

Worker in warehouse aisle, placeholder for long-shift foot fatigue

Long-Shift Fatigue

Standing all day can reveal pressure points and compensation patterns.

Person climbing stairs, placeholder for stair-related pain

Stairs or Hill Pain

Inclines often make weak links in foot and leg mechanics easier to see.

Trainer helping athlete stretch, placeholder for recovery and movement support

Post-Injury Changes

After pain or surgery, people often walk differently without noticing.

Appointment flow

Simple for the client. Useful for the build.

The scan itself is quick. The value is in connecting the scan to your symptoms, shoes, work, sport, and treatment plan.

Common questions

Does gait analysis hurt?

No. You simply walk normally across the plate in bare feet or socks. There is no discomfort involved.

How long does the assessment take?

The scan itself takes only a few minutes. Your full appointment, including review of results, typically runs 30–45 minutes.

Do I need a gait analysis before custom orthotics?

Yes. It is the foundation every custom orthotic is built from, so it is included as part of your assessment.

Is gait analysis covered by insurance?

Many benefit plans cover part of the cost. We can help you check what your specific plan covers.
